I'm sure that there are a lot of great stone contractors out there cause every talk to who has renovated their kitchen are happy with their stone guy. We're no different. These guys were recommended by our cabinet guy Tom Zelko (the best contractor we've ever had the opportunity to know).  Well they did our large marble island 4'x9'. They cut and wrap the edges so that the grain continues on the side looks very clean. Back then they were doing this by hand. Then I went back there about 7 years ago and they have a CNC machine they use. Basically it's a computer that operates the router / saw. I'm an engineer and do a little CAD work so this really peaked my interest. Was talking with the guy there and it's really cool what they can do. You can now map out exactly where to cut to adjust your counter top to get the best grain of your stone or maximize the layout. Then I saw they had a line of projects going. I believe they cut the counters for a bunch of other contractors. The machine is huge and must have been expensive. So now they do volume and quality. Price was reasonable.  I recommend them to people now when I hear that they need custom counter tops. Especially if you're bringing your own stone or marble. But I suspect that even if you go elsewhere they maybe assisting in the fabrication.  I haven't had a need for their services for several years however would include them on your list of contractors to check out if you need this type of work.
